The Peace Hospice has received a donation of £2,750 from the Freemasons' Grand Charity, an organisation that distributes money raised by Freemasons and their families to support people in need.
Complementing funds raised by Masons for services in their local areas, the Freemasons' Grand Charity has been making regular donations to hospices since 1984.
During this time more than £7.5 million has been donated across the nation. Last year the charity donated £650,000.
Colin Harris, the Provincial Grand Master for Hertfordshire said: "Hospices play a vital role in helping the individuals and families affected by terminal and life limiting illnesses.
"I am delighted that the grants from the Freemasons' Grand Charity will, in addition to the substantial funds raised by local masonic lodges in and around Watford, help to run these excellent local services that rely on voluntary and charitable support to fund their work."
