Players at Watford FC put their own training tops aside for last Saturday's clash with Sheffield Wednesday, to model the new bright yellow Starlight Walk t-shirts.

The midnight walk takes place on Saturday 13th June with 1,500 female walkers expected to sign up, starting at midnight outside at the Colosseum in Watford before passing through Watford High Street, Bushey Arches, Rickmansworth, Croxley Green before returning through Cassiobury Park.

Over 14,000 spectators attending the game, saw players come out of the tunnel, along with mascot, Harry the Hornet, kitted out in the new Watford coloured Starlight Walk shirts.

Starlight celebrity supporters, Martin and Shirlie Kemp were also in attendance at the game and were interviewed over the speakers in front of the home stand by Watford FC’s Richard Short.

Promoting the event, Martin Kemp told fans 'I was there last year, waving the flag and keeping the ladies all going. It’s a fantastic cause, and I can’t ask you enough, to get down and do the walk, get some sponsorship going and give the Hospice the money they deserve'. Since the promotional launch of this year's event, over 600 walkers have already signed up to the Hospice’s biggest fundraiser.

Chairman of the Starlight Walk committee, Linda Topping said 'The Peace Hospice is a local Charity - Watford Football Club is a local football club for local supporters and they marry very well.'

Martin and Shirley Kemp spoke well and with passion. The Walk is not just about raising money but also about raising awareness - together the profile of the Hospice with the backing of Watford has reached a new younger generation of local residents.

The players all looked resplendent in the t-shirts; as did the Mascot.
