A Student's experience of the Centre.

MY WORK EXPERIENCE AT THE WATFORD WOMEN’S CENTRE Working at the Watford Women’s Centre has been an experience I doubt I will ever forget. Only three days into the work and I’ve already learnt some valuable life lessons. The colleagues themselves are a delight to work with and it’s amazing how many people volunteer to help out at the Centre. They say big things come in small packages, and that is a phrase I have come to accept because before I got this placement, I always saw where it was but I never took notice of it, let alone set foot in it. But working here has shown me how valuable and important this Centre is to a numerous number of females in Watford. This experience has opened my eyes to my theories of the world of work. The hours can be long, but at the end of each day, I find myself satisfied with the work that I did, because in a way, I have contributed in helping the women that come to the Centre, no matter how small that help is. If I was asked to do another week here, I would say yes in an eye blink. I have now learnt to appreciate the little things in life that make a big difference to others. All in all, the Centre already does a lot to help the community, but they could do with some more help and support from the community as well.

I continue having a great experience at the Centre and shall spread the word about this good place that helps women and praises their achievements. Vue Nkomo.
