A good town for business, skills and learning

To help understand Watford’s economy now and what we need to do to meet future needs, One Watford commissioned some work by consultants Local Futures. They carried out an ‘audit’ of Watford’s economy, as well as looking at its demographics and environment.

This research will be used to plan ahead and make sure Watford remains a good town for business, skills and learning.

As well as trying to ensure that people in Watford have the skills that are required of them to participate in the town’s prosperous economy, One Watford aims to support businesses, new and existing, in the town.

We hope that this website will develop to be a useful source for businesses, employers and potential employees. The redevelopment of West Herts College, and developing links with the Watford Learning Partnership are other important ways to make improvements in this area.
