Mo's debut, Birdman, published in January 2000, was an international bestseller. Her subsequent books are all Sunday Times bestsellers and her third book, Tokyo, won the SNCF Prix Polar and was nominated for three CWA Dagger Awards.
Mo's fifth book, Ritual, the first of The Walking Man series, is released in March 2008.
Mo's tips on getting published There's only one true route to success and that is having the desire to write.
There are so many different ways at coming at it. You've really got to know that you want to do it and decide if it's going to be a hobby or if you're going to make a living out of it - if you're going to make a living out of it you've got to work at it and accept it's a competitive world.
On a purely practical level write what you would like to read.
Don't be worried inordinately about not being original enough - everybody brings something completely original as it starts with the person and not the subject matter.
Read anything and everything be it news or novels, magazines or online. Be really eclectic in your reading and never dismiss a genre.
