FA should make an example of Cole
What did you think of the antics of Ashley Cole and Javier Mascherano?
Should the FA throw the book at them? Who is the better sportsman: Tiger Woods or Roger Federer? And what is going on at Saracens?
These are the issues discussed in the Watford Observer's new online sports column, Talking Point.
Every week a member of the Watford Observer's sports team will be discussing a key local, national or international sporting achievement, decision or dispute from recent days and you can join the debate by using the comments facility.
This week it is the turn of Simon Mail to reflect on the major talkings points in the last seven days of sport.

Cole is a total digrace. Sadly that kind of arrogance is far too common in 'professional' football these days. Players who think that they are above the law on the pitch and off it. I would like to see the FA ban him for the remainder of the season, use this as an example and show that the FA has the guts to stand up for what is our national game and not let these egotistical idiots get away with things like this. I still love WFC but must admit I am getting tired of the antics at many Premier games these days. I am sure many ex-Chelsea professionals would cringe to see that sort of behaviour.

They should also make an example of Mascherano. If Eustace gets a one match ban for being slow to leave - but not actually holding up play - how much should Mascherano be punished by? He had to be escorted from the pitch in the end and he held up play for a considerable time. The FA could put Capello on their disciplinary board - he would not stand for this nonsense from the big clubs. He should maybe consider not picking Cole for a number of matches, just to make the point. At the moment the clubs and players think they are bigger than the game.

the Liverpool player needs his ban increased by 2 games-Cole needs dropping by england & banning for as long as an excuse can be found for & Rio Thickinand should NOT be captain of England--one of the worst examples of the moronic breed that infest the game at the top(well top in this country)

If anyone shuld be banned from football it is our own Bob Oteng. What an outrageous thing to do to an injured player. An action that could have led to serious crowd behaviour and yet not a word of criticism from our manager.Imagine the scenario if an away kit man had acted in such a childish manner on a Hornets player.
