HAIRDRESSING staff at hob salons are celebrating after a clutch of awards.
The Radlett-based hairdressing group's directors Akin Konizi, Clive Collins and Paul Simbler were announced winners of the Business Director of the Year at this year's exclusive British Hairdressing Business Awards held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
With 11 luxury salons located throughout Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Essex and London - including an academy and head office in Radlett - the three founding directors picked up their award in their fourth consecutive year as finalists.
Presented by Hairdressers Journal International, the British Hairdressing Business Awards are now in their eighth year and are designed to specifically recognise and celebrate the commercial success and professionalism of the hairdressing industry. There are 12 categories within the awards and the prestigious Business Director of the Year title rewards the entrepreneurial expertise and business skills of the UK's leading hairdressers.
After collecting the award in a join statement the trio said: "This award means so much to us all, not only the three directors but to the entire hob team and all of our clients who have been so loyal to us over the years. We would like to thank Hairdressers Journal International for sponsoring this amazing award and making our dream come true."
The hob success story continues, however, as Akin, the group's artistic director, also won the Most Wanted Fine Artist of 2006 at the Creative HEAD Most Wanted Awards. He was also announced as a runner-up in the Most Wanted Look of 2006 category.
