AFTER a term of fundraising, students from Immanuel College were delighted to hand over a cheque for £2,500 to local charity, Jewish Care.
Director of fundraising, Richard Franklin, was given the cheque by pupils Nicole Moss and Clive Kennard at a special assembly at the Bushey school on Tuesday, May 11.
The money was raised through a series of events as part of the school's charity programme Shevat Achim, meaning "sitting together", co-ordinated by its Jewish Studies teacher, Miss Elaine Robinson.
She said: "Every term the students vote for a different charity." Some of the classes visited Rela Goldhill Lodge in Golders Green, Jewish Care's home for younger people with physical disabilities, and this is where the money will go."
