Two senior shadow ministers were in Watford this weekend as part of Labour’s ‘day of action’.
Shadow minister for Brexit, Sir Keir Starmer and shadow women and equalities minister Dawn Brent joined parliamentary candidate Chris Ostrowski, mayoral candidate Jagtar Singh-Dhindsa, and supporters on Saturday.
They were there to promote their party’s day of action on police cuts in Hertfordshire.
Ms Butler, who is MP for Brent Central, added Watford was the “place to be” on Saturday and Mr Starmer said it was “time to put more bobbies on the street”.
Since 2010, 190 front line police officers and 58 PCSO’s have been removed in Hertfordshire.
The visit was also used to help strengthen Labour’s campaign in Watford ahead of the mayoral election and any potential general election.
Mr Starmer added: “I hope it will not be long before we can have a general election which will see Chris Ostrowski elected for Watford. In the short term I am confident you will elect a Labour mayor in Watford and more Labour councillors in May."
Mr Singh-Dhindsa added: "I was delighted that these two senior Labour front-benchers came to show us support in Watford. They were given a big reception. Watford is now a key target seat for Labour and we can win here."
