Thank you for your interest
in the Fame Factor Competition.
If your application is
successful, we will invite you to attend a first audition at Watersmeet on
Sunday 1st August 2010.
If you are successful at the
first audition, you will be invited to call-backs on Sunday 15th
August 2010.
Performers will be selected
to proceed to the live heats on Thursday 9th September or Friday 10th
September.
The final will take place on
Friday 1st October.
The Heats and Grand Final
will take place before the public, but not judged by the public.
The dates of Jack and the
Beanstalk are Tuesday 7 December until Friday 31st December 2010 and the extent
of commitment to the production will be agreed once the winner is chosen. The
role offered to the winner will be subject to casting opportunities, the
winner’s act and their availability.
Competition Rules
- The competition winner will be decided by a panel of industry experts and not the public.
- Applicants must agree that the judge’s decision is final.
- All applicants must live within a 30 mile radius of Watersmeet.
- Applicants must be
available for all dates mentioned in the above information and be happy to
take part in all publicity opportunities as they arise.
- There is no guarantee
that all applications received will be put forward to audition stage.
- No animals can be used
at any time during the act.
- Use of foul language or
offensive material within an act will not be tolerated and is strictly
forbidden. Please note that we are looking for an act to be performed in
front of a family audience.
- We require a full list
of those in each act on your application form. Please note the line up
cannot change once you have gone through the first audition stage.
- For audition purposes, your act must not be longer than
3 minutes. Please note that your act/performance must be easily adaptable.
- Please note that your act must be able to be performed
on a stage area of 9m wide x 4m deep as this is the size of the stage
available during the Pantomime. This also needs to be adaptable to a smaller
stage for our outdoor events, measuring around 7m x 5m.
- Please note that all venue health and safety
requirements must be adhered to, if you are unsure if your act will meet
these requirements please contact Watersmeet Technical Team for more advice.
- Applicants must be respectful of the other acts and the
organisers at all times.
- Applicants must not work
for Watersmeet, Watford Observer, Three Rivers District Council or Paul
Holman Associates.
- Any applicant under the
age of 16 must have the permission of their parent or guardian and to be
accompanied at all times to enter the competition.
- Applicants must agree to
take part in any form of press activity to promote the contest and give
permission for their act to be filmed and photographed for the purpose of
publicity. Applicants MUST print off and sign the disclaimer form and send
with the application form or bring it with them to their audition. This
confirms they agree to the organisers’ use of photographs / video in any
future publicity. In addition, those 16 and under MUST get a parent or
guardian to sign the form.
- All applicants must
provide suitable backing music on CD or mini disc and be fully self
contained other than microphone and lighting which will be supplied by
Watersmeet. Any special requirements need to be requested on the
application form and confirmed with Watersmeet before the audition. Any
change of music or requirement between the auditions/callbacks/heats or
final stages needs to be confirmed with Watersmeet in advance.
- Once the winner has been
confirmed the winning act will be offered the chance to appear in Jack and
the Beanstalk at Watersmeet and must make themselves available for
rehearsals as appropriate. The role offered will be subject to casting
opportunities, and the winner’s act and their availability. We will also
require the winner to perform at Watersmeet Press Launch and Victorian Night
Switch-on event in November, plus additional publicity opportunities as they
arise.
- Applications received
after the closing date will not be considered. This is Monday 19th July at
4.30pm.
