The community gathered to pay their respects to a much-loved reggae singer as a blue plaque was unveiled at his house - six years after his death.
Gregory Isaacs was born in Jamaica but lived in Harrow from 2007-2010.
A blue plaque marking his life was unveiled at his home in Weald Lane, Harrow Weald on Tuesday October 25.
Described as the "the most exquisite vocalist in reggae" by the New York Times, Gregory Isaacs gained international success after signing with Virgin Records and appearing in the 1978 Jamaican film “Rockers”.
A Gregory Isaacs Foundation was founded on 15 July 2011, Isaacs' birthday, by his wife June.
The foundation aims to continue his charitable work, as well as helping with charities that were close to his heart such as child welfare and drug and gun violence abstinence.
He was diagnosed with lung cancer, and died at the age of 59 in his home in Harrow on October 25 2010.
A tribute concenrt will take place this Saturday October 29, at the Bridge Park Complex in Harlesden.
