A mindful triathlon is taking place this weekend in a brand new wellness event, hoping to bring balance to your body.
TriMe is taking place at Roxbourne Park in Eastcote on Saturday, from 9.30am. There will be a five kilometre run followed by a 60 minute yoga class and then 30 minutes of guided meditation to “help your body slow down, focus the mind and complete your TriMe.”
Amy Leanne, owner of Hot Yoga House in Eastcote who has arranged the event, explains that it is suitable for those with experience as well as those who have never done these types of exercise before.
“That’s why we thought it would be good to do,” she tells me, when we discuss those considering their first foray in mindfulness. “People have emailed in saying they’ve never done any of the three before but have thought about it.
“In the park it will be less daunting then coming through a reception to a studio. It’s a good introduction to it all, even running.
“It’s just about everyone getting together to be mindful. Everyone has their own challenge, even if it’s a half an hour walk. People can take some time out at any stage if they want to.”
After the TriMe, which is estimated to take two hours, there will be teachers and nutritionists speaking and taking questions or feedback.
Around 80 people have signed up so far. Mats are available to borrow if you let them know in advance and all attendees will receive a good bag to take home.
