The hot weather may be cut short by tonight as forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning of thunderstorms.
Despite clear skies and light winds this afternoon, the weather is predicted to take a sudden turn by this evening with intense thundery showers and temperatures of 18C.
The rain may ease off slightly as the night progresses but there is a chance of hail and additional showers tomorrow, which could cause flooding in certain areas.
Frequent lightning may also prove to be another hazard as it could potentially disrupt power networks.
