Adult learning provided by a local authority has seen signs of improvement, leading to a maintained Ofsted rating, according to the latest inspection.

‘Learn Harrow’, the adult education service run by Harrow Council, was recently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

This was the same grade it received in 2013 and matches the rank given to the council’s Children’s Services.

Cllr Sue Anderson, responsible for community and culture at Harrow Council, said: “Harrow is famous for great education, and that learning process doesn’t need to stop.

“Whatever your personal goals, we’re here to help our residents integrate, improve and prosper.

“Ofsted are right, ‘Learn Harrow’ is good, and we want more of our residents to discover these brilliant services.”

The latest report noted improvement in a number of areas including reduced subcontracting partners and the deliverance of more classes directly.

It also reserved special praise for the learners’ use of technology and the way they were prepared for employment and supported into work by ‘Learn Harrow’.

The service offers a number of courses, many of which are free to take. Visit learnharrow.co.uk for more information and to sign up.
