A Harrow councillor was suspended after uploading a series of “homophobic” social media posts.

Chika Amadi, who represents the Edgware ward, claimed that those who participate in Pride events are “evil”.

She also accused marchers of paedophilia and defended her tweets when challenged by LGBT activists.

Cllr Amadi, who is also a pastor, has a history of posting anti-gay sentiments and supporting those who share similar views. She was widely condemned and suspended by the Labour Party.

The long-standing keeper at Canons Park stepped down from his role as part of an organisational shake-up.

Derek Roy, who has worked for Harrow Council for almost 50 years, spent the past decade of his life tending to the park.

He joins fellow keepers at the depot who will act as a “gang” visiting a number of parks in the area.
