An award-winning photographer is offering insight into “The world through my eyes” at his first ever solo exhibition.
Gary Perlmutter, from Borehamwood, has a love of people which has led him to capture them in work and play for more than 40 years.
Throughout his career he has photographed politicians and families, Bar Mitzvahs and weddings for which he has won an industry silver award, as well as commercial and magazine work.
Gary describes the show as “a tale of two stories” because in his spare time he focusses on his true passion: street photography. He says: “The streets of London are my landscape. A good half of the display depicts that.”
Gary has been photographing people since he was a teenager and his work has since been published around the world.
“When people look at a photograph you want a reaction and if it makes people smile then that’s great. I like humour, I like people to smile and so when I can, and it’s not always easy, I like to find humour.”
Apthorp Gallery, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett until Monday, February 29, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm.
