A Watford group has been named as the number one taekwondo club in London and South East England.

The Titan Academy in Watford and Ruislip has been given an award by Prestige Awards.

It comes after the group was nominated and the panel of judges researched what the group did and how it teaches pupils.

Members were invited to an awards ceremony on Tuesday, August 22, in Guildford to celebrate their achievement.

Taekwondo instructor, Dean Magee, from Watford, said: “It is so good we have been given this award. We don’t go out looking for the recognition but was really nice to be told you are doing well.

“The students are over the moon and have had a really good year.”

The 34-year-old added: “Titan as a whole want to grow bigger and inspire people to get fit and be stronger.

"Our next goal is the Manchester International Open in December to grow a bigger team and do well. Then next year take a bigger team to the world championships and overall lead by example and be inspiring coaches.”
