Two local kebab restaurants are finalists in the British Kebab awards 2024.
The Shish Meze Bar – Rickmansworth is in the running for the Customer Satisfaction category, while La Banq, in Abbots Langley High Street, is up for best newcomer.
La Banq opened in December 2022 and offers varied dishes including burgers, pasta, fish, and moussaka. However, it lists its grilled meat dishes as the restaurant speciality and offers a range of kebabs.

It also prides itself on having a "carefully-curated cocktail menu" to compliment fine dining and "friendly and entertaining" service.
Serving its kebabs to eat in or take away in Moneyhill Parade, The Shish Meze Bar – Rickmansworth manager Dave Karakus told the Watford Observer that this was not the restaurant’s first time in the awards.

It had also made the final list for the same category in 2022.
He highlighted the fresh meat and veg used to make its “delicious” kebab offering as a reason for its success.
Each year the British Kebab Awards celebrate their industry as judges, including some well-known faces in previous years, hand out awards to the nation's best local takeaways and restaurants.
