A Watford man has walked away thousands of pounds richer as he and two others beat ITV’s The Chase.
John, who lives near Vicarage Road, took on chaser Mark Labbett (AKA The Beast) in last night’s episode alongside Londoner Ivan, Michele from Bath and Sabrina from Galway.
Despite living so close to the Hornets' stadium, the 38-year-old funeral celebrant admitted he is a Liverpool fan, which drew a frown from Watford-born presenter Bradley Walsh.
During the show, John said the “wackiest” funeral he had ever attended was Star Wars-themed with “storm troopers marching down to the crematorium”.

Although Sabrina was knocked out by The Beast, the three contestants managed to beat the chaser with seconds to spare and walked away with a share of £19,000.
John said he would spend the money on getting his private pilot’s licence and when Bradley Walsh asked him if he found it scary, the celebrant said: “No I loved it, it was brilliant.
“I thought I might, but it seems much easier than driving and I'm a terrible driver.”
