Our Story: I had broken my left leg in a skydiving accident and the only work I could do was managing the ticket office at a bar. It was on this door that I met the man that I am ecstatic to say I will be marrying.

Shaun McPherson was the kindest, cheeriest and most talkative doorman I had ever met! It could become quite lonely in the booth during less busy times, and being on crutches in a busy bar is not the safest of situations, but Shaun was always there to chat to me, make me laugh, offer to get me things if I needed them and to protect me when I needed to face the crowds. Everyday I looked forward to seeing his gorgeous smile that bit more and then one night he gave me a hug that made me never want to let go - and luckily I never have to.

On the 18th August, 2008, Shaun proposed to me at the top of the London Eye (although he had planned a hot air balloon trip, but it was cancelled due to weather). I love being up high and I love him so of course I said: "Yes".

We are getting married on the 18th April, eight months from when he proposed so I'm hoping that what the Chinese say about eight being lucky is true, although I feel that we have been far more than lucky already. Although painful, leaping out of that aeroplane led to more happiness than I could ever have imagined.
