Slick on your lipstick, throw back your shoulders and get ready to discover fabulous fashions from our city and beyond.

With almost 30 events, ranging from skincare demonstrations to jewellery designing and styling and make-up masterclasses, the second annual St Albans Fashion Week (October 27 to November 2) has everything you need for the body beautiful.

You can also feed your fashionista soul with a 1977-themed party or VIP dinner with fashion insider Angela Clarke. And for the gents there is a Dapper Drinker event at The Beer Shop and Galio’s Guide to the Perfect Engagement.

Perhaps most importantly the week has also launched a Next Generation programme, supporting young talent with work experience, workshops and a Young Designer of the Year award as part of the St Albans Fashion and Beauty Awards.

Here is our pick of the events.

The week isn’t just about new fashions. Dig out your unworn clothes and take them from drab to fab at the Rags to Riches Upcycling Workshop on October 29 and 31 or the Embellishment and Adornment Workshop on October 29. You can even send your items to a loving new home at the Charity Swap Shop on November 1 and replace them with items others have brought along. All three take place at St Albans Fashion Week HQ, French Row, St Albans.
