WITH so many parties and events lined up over the next few weeks, looking good is paramount, writes Nicola Orchard.

Clare Logue, based in Tylers Green, has been chosen by celebrity make up artist Daniel Sandler, to use his products in her salon. With a range of colours and products, creating a glamorous look is easy.

I went to Clare's home based salon, to try out some party perfect looks. Clare is friendly, passionate about make up, and happy to give you a full consultation ahead of your makeover.

Clare believes in the importance of a flawless base, and she chose the colour perfect for my (pale) skin tone, before applying it with a soft foundation brush, which is very relaxing.

One of Daniel Sandler's signature products is the Watercolour Blush, which can be used as a blush and a highlighter, and Clare used a combination of two colours on me.

She advises setting your base with a little loose powder, and explains: "Too much powder can be very ageing but it is a must if your make up is to last through your Christmas party or while you cook the turkey."

After creating a perfect base, Clare moved on to my eyes and lips.

When I do my make up for a night out, I always concentrate on doing up my eyes with smoky colours. So we decided to do something different, giving me red lips, with a more natural eye. Clare says: "Red lips are a must for the Christmas party season. To achieve this look wear minimal eye make up.

"You don't have to go for a bright red, you can choose a shade you feel comfortable with."

Clare used a combination of cream and brown colours on my eyes, which was complemented by the red lipstick.

If you would rather concentrate on your eyes, Clare advises: "If you are wearing grey on your eyes warm your cheeks with a hint of pink otherwise you will look washed out."

She adds: "Christmas is about fun and make up is an essential part of that fun."

Clare offers make up services both in her studio or at her home, as well as a range of other beauty treatments.

Make up artists who use Daniel Sandler products are chosen by Daniel himself. Daniel can count among his celebrity clients people like Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon and Joanna Lumley. His products are stocked in the Urban Retreat in Harrods.
