Are you an artist or a crafts person looking for a new opportunity in the new year? Then Watford Museum wants you.

The museum is looking for artists and craftspeople to exhibit at the Little Gallery Tearoom, which takes place every fourth Saturday of the month, as well as for people to host artistic workshops on the day.

The tearoom has a lovely vintage vibe, with home-made cakes and Fair Trade drinks sold from an original Benskins bar – a nod to the museum building’s former incarnation as the offices of Benskins Brewery. Your arts or crafts stall will be at the heart of the café, surrounded by the fantastic historic collections in the museum.

All forms of creativity are welcomed – in the past the tearoom has hosted jewellery makers, illustrators, painters, potters, print-makers, knitters, book binders and embroiderers.

If you are interested in exhibiting at the tearoom, send an email to the museum’s learning officer, Gemma Meek, with a brief description of your artwork or crafts, any links to websites or blogs you may have, and some examples of your work, and specifying which month you would like to exhibit in.

Alternatively, if you are interested in running one of the tearoom’s arts and crafts workshops for adults – past sessions have included felt making, embroidery, jewellery beading and paper crafts – email Gemma with an outline of your proposed workshop, an image of what will be created and the price you suggest charging participants. The workshop should run for one to two hours and you must provide all the materials yourself.
