Firmin family illustrations on show

Maidenhead artist Hannah Firmin and her father, Peter, are currently showing their artwork at an exhibition in Kent.

Hannah is well known for designing the covers to Alexander McCall Smith's series, The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, which won her Best Book Cover of the Year at the British Book Awards in 2004.

She has worked as a freelance illustrator and printmaker since 1981, after attending the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art.

Peter, best known for creating children's films and programmes, including Noggin the Nog and Bagpuss, is also an illustrator and artist and studied printmaking under Gertrude Hermes.

Peter and Hannah will exhibit artwork and prints at the Horsebridge Arts and Community Centre, Whitstable, Kent until Tuesday, April 15. Private view tomorrow (Saturday). Details: www.myportfolio.com/hannahfirmin
