Lead singer of indie rock band The Subways, Billy Lunn, is heading home for a special gig at The Forum.

He and his band mates met as youngsters in Welwyn Garden City and their début album Young for Eternity became a cult classic when it was released in 2005.

Their following release All or Nothing took Lunn and co to Los Angeles to work with producer Butch Vig (Nirvana) and in 2011 came their third album Money and Celebrity.

Snce then they have performed all over the world with gigs at Glastonbury Festival, Download Festival and Reading and Leeds Festival, they supported AC/DC at Wembley and appeared in Late Show with David Letterman.

They are working on their anticipated fourth album, but in the meantime Billy will be showing off his acoustic solo talents next week as part of Hatfield Rocks – an initiative by The Forum to foster local talent.

With this in mind, University of Hertfordshire student Luke Remon will be opening the night with a solo set.

Also performing will be Natasha North, who has been championed by BBC Introducing and hotly tipped for success in the UK. She has previously played alongside artists such as Jake Bugg and Aluna George. Her songs range from reflective ballads, to infectious upbeat numbers, and her powerful and distinctive voice draws upon a number of influences including Damien Rice, Laura Marling and Bon Iver.

The night will take place in the intimate setting of the venue’s 320 capacity Attic.
