Step inside an alternate world where everything runs on steam instead of electricity.
The Museum of St Albans is holding a Steampunk Ball on Saturday, March 22 from 8pm, to celebrate the movement, which has spawned its own, music, literature, fashion and design. It will feature top steampunk band Ghostfire (picture above) and the appropriately named Steampunk DJ.
It is being held to complement the museum’s quirky Gadgets and Goggles exhibition, showcasing items such as self-pouring teapots and clockwork burglar alarms.
Museum of St Albans, Hatfield Road, St Albans, free entry to exhibition, until April 13. Details and tickets for the Ball:01727 819340, stalbansmuseums.org.uk
