Diana plans a welcome return to Tring

FRESH from recitals across Europe, Romanian pianist Diana Ionescu is making a welcome return to The Court Theatre in Tring for the New Masters Series 2008. The series aims to give local audiences the opportunity to hear performances by highly gifted up and coming artists.

Diana is already an international prize winner and famous in her own country. Born in 1981, she was a child prodigy and at seven years of age began her piano studies at the National Academy of Bucharest.

Between 1992 and 1999, she went on to study with Olga Szell at the George Enescu Institute, then entered Bucharest National Music University, from which she graduated in 2003 with the highest possible grades. She is continuing her studies under Professor Ronan O'Hora at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Diana has also continued her rise on the international concert platform, giving recitals to great critical acclaim throughout Europe - countries visited include Austria, Belgium, the UK, France and Russia.

Her programme for the Tring concert will include works by Schumann, Scarlatti, Schubert and Debussy. Following the recital, audiences will be invited to meet the artist.
