NETTLEBED Folk Club is welcoming a band with an impressive list of achievements to their next gig.
On Monday, February 25, Magna Carta visit the club. The band has recorded 29 albums - including Seasons and Lord of the Ages - with eight million sales world wide, six gold albums and six silver. They have also toured 60 countries.
Made up of three musicians - Chris and Linda Simpson, and Matt Barnhoorn - Magna Carta has a unique vocal and guitar sound.
Their concerts blend humour and stories with a variety of musical styles and influences.
Matt, a Dutch fiddle and mandolin player, guests on their concerts. He met Chris and Linda while they were sharing the concert bill with Fairport Convention. Matt was playing fiddle with Rick Sanders and Chris Lesley in Fairport's set, and Chris Simpson invited him along to the next Magna concert, and he is now a permanent guest fixture.
