READERS can tune in to ITV's Pop Idol 2 every Saturday for the next five weeks for the chance to catch a glimpse of Watford's Suzanne Carley, who has made it through to the final 50.
Suzanne, 19, a former student of St Michael's School, Garston, fended off more than 20,000 wannabes to scoop a place in the final 50 of the televised talent contest.
The local star will now rely on the public vote in being one of the two from ten auditioned over the next five consecutive weeks to secure her place in the top ten.
Mr Glen Pettengell, head of PE at St Michael's School, who last year coached the rising star through her A-levels, said: "I genuinely hope she does well. She is a cracking girl and was a wonderful student.
"We tried to keep her grounded, but she was always a real dream-chaser.
