Science fiction, B movies, the legend of Faust – nothing is safe from satire in the Little Shop of Horrors, so Kings Langley Players have taken on a big job for its first ever foray into musical theatre (which also has the mickey taken out of it in the show).

Based on a low-budget 1960 black comedy film and set in a failing flower shop in New York’s Skid Row in the 1950s, it tells the strange and compelling tale of shy shop assistant Seymour, his discovery of a mystery plant with a deadly secret, and his hopeless love for Audrey.

“This has been a golden opportunity to stretch ourselves," says KLP chairman and director of Little Shop Andrew Knight. "I felt there couldn’t be a better time for us to tackle something completely different to our usual programme of ‘straight’ comedies and dramas.”
