Mattie Lacey-Davidson talks to Britain’s Got Talent star Darren Altman, known to millions as the man of a thousand voices, who wowed judges on the hit telly talent contest with his impressions of some of the country’s top stars.
This Christmas he is starring in the Watersmeet panto of Jack and the Beanstalk.
What can people expect from the panto?
It has lots of laughs. It’s very funny and brilliantly written
Is this your first panto?
Yes, my first time acting on stage
How did you get involved with the production?
After my appearances on Britain’s Got Talent I was approached to appear
Has it been a lot of fun?
Massively! The cast are great and we get on very well on and off stage
When did you realise you had talent?
I was always able to impersonate people on tv or friends and family. I have a knack of being able to mimic voices and do impressions
Tell me a bit about your time on Britain’s Got Talent?
I loved the experience, all the crew were great. I was blown away by the comments from the judges and the standing ovation
What have you been up to in-between then and now?
Working hard at my voiceover career, writing material for stand up and working hard for panto of course!
Where do you live now?
Worcester Park in Surrey
What is next for you, in 2017?
Who knows! More stand up? I have goals for my voiceover career and things I want to attain, so we’ll see…
Watersmeet, High Street, Rickmansworth, WD3 1EH, until Saturday, December 31. Details: 01923 711063
