Three accomplished musicians who have gained international renown as the Lendvai String Trio are coming to The Radlett Centre next week for the latest concert in Radlett Music Club’s 72nd season.

Dutch violinist Nadia Wijzenbeek, Swedish viola player Ylvali Zilliacus and British cellist Marie Macleod have made regular appearances at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Nybrokajen in Stockholm and the Purcell Room, Barbican and Wigmore Hall in London. Recipients of the prestigious Leverhulme Chamber Music Award Fellowships at the Guildhall School of Music, the trio studied under Toyko-born violinist and viola tutor David Takeno.

Between them, three musicians have an impressive string of accolades and achievements; Marie, a member of the Aronowitz Ensemble, won the String sections of the BBC Young Musician of the Year and the Royal Over-Seas League, as well as the bronze medal in the Shell/LSO Competition. She was recently selected for the BBC New Generation Artists. Ylvali plays regularly with Uppsala Chamber Soloists and with Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Nadia was recently appointed concertmaster of the Magogo Chamber Orchestra in Holland.

For the concert, the trio will play a programme to include Haydn: Trio, Beethoven: String Trio and James Francis Brown: Trio.

The concert at The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett takes place on Wednesday January 21 at 8.15pm.
