Distinguished guitarist Dimitris Dekavallas returns to The Court theatre, Tring for a concert and masterclass this weekend, starting tonight. Considered by the critics to be "One of the most talented guitarists of the age," Dimitris Dekavallas is an international prize winner of renown, including the Ivor Mairants Award and possessing an almost limitless and varied repertoire. Dimitris regularly appears internationally and throughout the UK, enchanting audiences with his technical mastery of his very fine instrument.

Dimitris Dekavallas gave his First public performance at the age of nine at the National Concert Hall in Athens and went on to study at the Athens' Conservatory, graduating in 2002 with First Prize being awarded the highest possible mark. He went on to study at London's Royal Academy of Music, winning the Major Exhibition Scholarship in the process, finally graduating with Distinction, the Blythe Watson Award and also gaining (with Distinction) his LRAM Teaching Diploma. Since graduations in 2007, his extraordinary prowess has led to concert tours internationally and the UK, including St Martin's in the Field, St Pauls, Sheffield Cathedral and appearing in masterclasses with John Williams, Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and Peter Maxwell Davies.

For his concert at The Court Theatre, Dimitris has chosen particularly lyrical works for the classical guitar, sure to hold the audience enchanted throughout the evening. These include works by: Isaac Albeniz; Joaquin Rodrigo; Giuliani and Manuel De Falla Dimitris Dekavallas will follow his recital on the evening of Friday 25th with a masterclass on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th for gifted students of the Classical Guitar, which audiences will be invited to attend. This will be a fascinating opportunity for families of the participating students and general audiences to watch a 'Master at Work'
