5:14pm Thursday 1st December 2011 in Theatre
By Melanie Dakin
Celebrations are in order as Herts Inclusive Theatre hosts an evening of opera and entertainment in the grand setting of the Grims Dyke Hotel to mark its tenth birthday.
The evening will raise funds for the award-winning charity to continue its invaluable work with children, young people and adults of all abilities.
The evening kicks off at 7pm with a very unusual welcome from an array of characters from HIT’s 13 to 18-year-old group, followed by a performance by professional opera singers Mike Bracegirdle and Lise Christensen.
The pair will be singing well-known arias from popular operas including Carmen and Don Giovanni, as well as songs from stage and screen classics such as My Fair Lady and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. There will also be a raffle with a range of prizes, a birthday cake and guest appearances by the Mayor of Hertsmere, Cllr Peter Knell, and the Chairman of Watford Borough Council, Cllr Lindsey Scudder.
The party is at Grims Dyke Hotel, Old Redding, Harrow Weald on Tuesday, December 6, at 7pm. Details: 01923 499310, 07857 986364, www.hitproject.co.uk
