A pianist of international standard will perform the music of Mozart, Puccini and Rachmaninov with young local musicians at a charity concert in Harpenden next weekend.
Pianist Tom Poster will be taking part in the annual spring concert organised by Harpenden Lions on Saturday, April 26 at Rothamsted Manor.
Tom performs regularly on BBC Radio Three, and won last year's Scottish International contest. He will be supported by Harpenden sisters Alice (clarinet) and Sophie Gledhill (cello).
During the evening, Sophie and Alice will perform Mozart's popular Clarinet Quintet along with Sophie's fellow string principals from the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra -violinists Guy Button and Chang-Ho Yoon with Rosalind Ventris on viola.
The concert will present a variety of works, each opening with one musician and adding to the ensemble one by one. Profits will go to music therapy in hospices and special schools, as well as the local Pasque Charity hospice.
