Young actors from across south-west Hertfordshire have been chosen to peform at the National Theatre later this year.
Each year the National Theatre commissions ten leading playwrights to create original plays for young people.
Schools and youth theatres across the country then stage productions of the plays with the possibility of performing at the National Theatre as part of the New Connections Festival.
Hertfordshire County Youth Theatre's performance of A Vampire Story was selected to represent the play at the festival.
James Williams, young people's director, says: "A Vampire Story was one of the most popular of the plays on offer this year, so it is a great achievement that our production was chosen. We put a lot of hard work in to the show and it's extremely rewarding to have that recognised."
The performers from south-west Hertfordshire include: Amberley Lowis, Ida Conboy and Sam Selley (Rickmansworth School); Ben Hantonne (Queens School, Bushey); Jessica Skyers (Francis Combe, Garston); and Verity Varnham (Bushey Meads).
