Snakes
Hazily, i gazed at the shadow puppets on the wall that tried to converse with me in mime. Jumping, hopping, pouncing, to and fro, their dusty silhouettes were rejoicing their freedom. The moon beamed down, giving its blessings as the wing ruffled the leaves on the window sill as if to say, well done. I slowly reached over to close the window; carefully, cautiously, as quiet as a mouse.

Cherry-Blossom Cherish
Japan a country that ranges from the Sky-scraper cities to the unknown natural villages. Personally the calm and tranquil scenery of the stars and the fragrant scent of bamboo is what I love about my home town, Kyoto. Many of my friends at Sam Koto High-School hold dreams of moving to bring cities like Osaka and Tokyo or leave Japan completely.

"Trapped"
I feel so trapped. It isn't my fault. I didn't start it. I definitely don't want it to happen. Yet, against my will, and my prayers, it does. Mother says this. Father says that. Back and forth, back and forth. What is this called? An argument. What does it consist of? Angry people, a sticky situation, and many people hurt in the process.

The Storm
An uncharacteristic gloom descended upon the scene and everything stood still, poised, waiting. To the west a foreboding darkness gathered and moved inexorably closer like an ocean tide gathering strength as it approaches. The air felt intense and an all-encompassing tension was becoming palpable.

Good Monsters
Clementine has several looks on his face. His mouth has wandered from the screen his eyes watch, and creased lips enjoy the buttered popcorn that we bought earlier (put all our money in an empty cup - the last pennies of a minimum wage salary). His eyes seem to echo the moving pictures and you can catch John Wayne smiling on them - the tint of his teeth, the soft sparkle in his eyes are all there.

Is Skipping a Sport?
The weekend had finally come and I was sitting on the swing in my back garden, savouring every second of freedom. The cool July day was, in my eyes, a perfect one. No clouds were visible in the blue sky, planes made fascinating works of art which I tried to interpret and the sun was able to shine without any interruptions.

I Hope He's Thinking About Something Else
It is a sunny day in March and I am walking my pet dog, Danni, down a short woodland path. I am idly walking behind her, when the lead suddenly pulls and she jumps into some bushes. "Bad dog!" I hiss, as I pull her out.

Car accident
Silence. A strong, icy wind whipped through the winding country lane, rocking the overturned car like a baby in a cradle. Screams for help were engulfed by the constant silence. Actually it was only one scream from one survivor. Joy riders. That's what they had been; but there was no joy on their faces now.

Night Swim
The boy tore out of the house as fast as he could, unable to endure any more patriarchal abuse. He did not know what he was going to do; he just knew he had to get as far away from his stepfather as possible, and he knew where he wanted to go.

Footsteps in the Dark
I wasn't too sure how long I'd been there. At a guess, half an hour? There was no way of knowing for sure. Crouched behind what I thought was a large desk, everything was quiet. It was as if silence was smothering everything, my thoughts included.
