The Madness That Makes Me, Me (poem)
There's a shark in my stomach,
Seems like he's swimming away,
But truth be told,
He's simply searching for his prey
There's a dog in my diaphragm,
He's as loyal as can be,
He joyfully plays and stands by my side,
In complete loyalty,
There's a frog in my throat,
He hops, croaks and wheezes,
And even when he's told what to do,
He'll simply do as he pleases,
There's a horse in my heart,
Labouring away for me,
Churning out the miles,
But he just wants to run free,
There's a lion in my legs,
He sprints across the plain,
The blood of his victims,
Still sticky in his mane,
There's a chameleon in my chest,
Always hiding from sight,
But if he would just reveal himself,
Then you would know his plight,
There's a jellyfish in my jaw,
He has no say in where he goes,
Just drifting round with the tide,
Where he goes next no one knows,
There's a bear on my back,
I know he just wants to play,
But when he runs jumps and plays about,
He just scares the others away,
There's a wolf within my waist,
Eating away at my soul,
And if he sounds his howl once more,
He will surely take control,
There's an angry bull running round my brain,
He charges through it with malice,
He beats my brain-cells really hard,
Treating the place like his palace,
But most of all, there's this monster in my mind,
He feeds he guides and he wills me,
But when me sees red and goes mad,
He will do all he can to kill me.
