Appeal over Parrotts Close homes

A property developer is appealing a decision by district councillors to refuse planning permission to build a small housing estate in Croxley Green.

Developers Kebbell Country Homes had planned to build three detached homes and garages in Parrotts Close but was told by Three Rivers District Council its plans were inappropriate, unsightly and too cramped.

The 4,200 square metre site was purchased by the St Albans based developer last summer and is currently occupied by just one detached home - for which an application has also been made to demolish.

The appeal will be judged by a government appointed inspector in the coming months, with a decision expected in the summer.

Government planners have demanded that 4,000 new homes be built in the district by 2021 as part of the council's 15 year development plan.

Residents wishing to express a view on the application should write in triplicate to the Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/14, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol. BS1 6PN by Monday, April 21.

Methinks a slight bit jealousy has raised it's ugly head in Kombat's comment.
I for one, would not like to see Croxley succumb to the chavvy over developement that has affected many parts of Watford. It's nice to see the residents fighting to keep what they have instead of rolling over and giving up!
I still worry that developers dosh will beat common sense AGAIN!
