No loan moves for Aidy
Aidy Boothroyd has decided against making any late moves into the loan market despite losing key players for the run-in.
John Eustace has seen his suspension extended to four games after a midweek FA appeal.
The midfielder was handed an extra game ban for failing to leave the field quickly enough after his sending-off against former side Stoke City.
Darius Henderson is also out for two matches after picking up a tenth booking in the draw at Plymouth.
But the Watford boss has decided to keep faith with his squad, with the loan window shutting last night, as the promotion battle moves into the final six weeks of the season.
Boothroyd said: "I won't be bringing anyone else in. We have enough players to get over the line and there is no point bringing someone in if we are not going to play them."
The Hornets manager travelled with Eustace to Soho Square to defend his corner on Tuesday but they still saw his suspension lengthened to the Barnsley home game.
"We went to see the three man committee of the FA, we gave our plea for leniency and thankfully he's had a game taken off.
"It's not the ideal situation because it's still an extra game and we didn't think it warranted it but the FA is our governing body and we respect it and we take our punishment."
Adam Johnson, the England Under-21 winger, has not been allowed to go back out on loan from Middlesbrough.
Watford have first refusal on the talent but Boro boss Gareth Southgate was unwilling to let him leave.
The 20-year-old was a revelation for the Hornets during the first three months of the season and Watford's form has not been the same since his exit.
Speaking of his failure to break into the Premiership outfit's first team, Johnson said: "It's been frustrating for me but I've got to get my head down and get on with it.
"I want to stay here and I'd love to make it here but it just

Well,he tends to do this kind of thing & run risks a bit.I agree if they are not going to play and can onmy support him & hope he is proven right.
Nothing for it now but to dig in & get a point at Hull and 9 from 12 home points & a further away point will do it.
Of course IF we avoid defeat @ Hull and WBA it will be a major boost. Our home games look decent but we have to click offensively to make them count.

Glad to see someone thinks we will win again! But why not 12 from 12 - who will hold us to a draw?

Scotshorn/Drinker - on the basis that we've won only 7 of our last 26 league games and our strikers have only scored one in the last 7 (inc 2 missed pens!) i think you may be a tad over optimistic....??

We have just gone over a quarter of the season unbeaten, and only eight defeats all season.
I can see us remaining unbeaten for the rest of the season.
I know goals are a bit of a problem at the moment, but we get enough to get us the results.
It is not brilliant, but as I have said before we are the best of a very poor bunch.
It certainly will not be good enough for the Premiership, but it should be okay for automatic promotion.
The Premier money will be a great boost to the club, and if we become a yo-yo team that is fine by me. This way there is never a dull moment!

Anyway, chief striker and penalty misser is absent for the next couple of games, and who knows what CJ, Sk or even NE will do in his absence.
John Stirk - now there's a blast from the past. Full back and science teacher extraordinaire.

We are lacking goals, but like all runs this come to an end soon. I reckon Collins John will get his first for, Shiitu will get one as well, I also have a feeling in my water that Hull will score 1 and also an own goal, so that we win 3-1. It is a strange and totally inexplicable mood of optimism and I wish I could be there to see it!! It's a shame we did not get AJ back on loan, lets hope he will be so **** off at sitting on the Boro bench that he will want to come back to us in a summer transfer. Team for tomorrow(assuming all fit): Lee, DeMerit, Bromby, Shittu, Sadler, Smith, O'Toole, Williamson, McAnuff,
John, Ellington. Subs: Poom, Bangura, Stewart, Kabba, Rinaldi/Mariappa.

Neville - if we draw the rest of our matches or continue the form of the last 26 games we won't finish in the top 2. Lose to Hull and it will be really difficult. Don't fancy our chances in the PO's - last time we were in form with no pressure - this time we wont be the underdogs and have all the pressure, esp given the lead we had.
John Stirk - yes great consistent performer one season, disappeared the next !

Love the optimism...I cannot see why draws should become wins.
However the way our defence is playing I cannot see us losing any games cept maybe at Hull ...what an away win that would be...but I am far more concerned about our inability to win at home and that is where the future might well be decided.
I think in reality Aidy is right over loan players...if we could have got a midfielder or Ben that would have been different but a striker might have been more disruptive
than good.
I think a lot rides both for Aidy and WFC over the next couple of games with Duke and CJ needing to deliver...hope he and they get lucky. In the meantime fingers crossed for saturday.

The draws could also,easily,become losses.
We needed help but Aidy blew it.
The teams who really want promotion added some help(Stoke are top but their manager decided you can always improve.)
If Aidy is right then he will deserve the plaudits but if he is wrong then I hope he admits it.

Hey John Stirk, when I said we would remain unbeaten until the end of the season, I did not mean seven draws!
I see us picking up five points from the three away games, and ten points from the four home games (or some close variation of this scenario).
This will give us 80 points, which I think will be enough for automatic this year in what is a very poor division.
I could be wrong, but I still think we are the best of a poor bunch. I think we might even nick it at Hull today?
