Mark Stow the Chief Scout was also seen in the Upper Rous for the first time since he was sacked in mid January. He was there to watch the players he brought to the club Shittu, Williamson, Smith, McAnuff, Ainsworth, Priskin. Interesting that they were probably our brightest players today, and can all play football !!!

The 3 players Boothroyd brought in January post Stow, Sadler, Eustace and Bromby are starting to look very average championship players !!!

The reason the WO are obsessed with the Russo's is because without their £8M, we would have gone in Administration, lost the ground, not signed Marlon etc etc. These guys were shafted cos they 'asked questions' of the current management and direction of the club ! quite rightly so. Ashton just failed an interview ar Charlton, the man owning our 2010 vision is trying to jump ship, Boothroyd crushes anyone that stands up to him, he has lost some in the dressing room.
why shouldnt they have their money back, if I lent someone £80 and they treated me like sh!t I would want it back ....

I'm not normally moved to join these discussions but honestly, Russos v Simpson - No contest. Bring the brothers back. Simpson is only about saving face now, not the football, he wants out and I say let him go.....NOW!

I trust that the person who sold the Russo's their tickets cleared their desk on Friday as an invitation to the office of Simpson or Ashton will be coming this morning.

You will always get some supporters voicing their disagreement with the way things have gone lately, this would happen at any club, to say it should not happen is very strange?.

I cannot understand why anything that is vaguely critical is seen as 'stirring', 'trouble-making' etc.

Yet even in the darkest moments of what has been a truly bleak and miserable run over the last few months, it apparently acceptable to keep saying 'give the manager time' and 'Aidy will turn it round'.

Surely such comments could be described as 'blind faith' or 'no grasp of reality'.

Yet too many people think you can only be a true fan if you keep on clapping.

I've been a fan for almost 35 years, and yet I think we are heading towards oblivion on and off the pitch.

But because I'm not blindly cheering everything, does that make my viewpoint any less valid?

I cant speak for others who post here, but I feel that I have a perfectly rationale explanation for regularly 'opposing' those who persistently criticise AB, certain players, the club management or those fans who want to show their support for the club (the so-called happy clappers).

My profession has given me an insight into the workings of the mind, and I'm well aware of the effects of a constant barrage of negativity, such as has recently been the case. To help stop this barrage becoming a self fulfilling prophecy, I simply post comments that oppose the negativity.

That's not to say that I am happy with the current state of (playing) affairs at the club - far from it. But I am enough of a realist to accept that a)those in charge are in charge, b)they know far more than the average armchair manager/coach does and c)they should be given the appropriate time in charge to prove themselves (and quite frankly, the 3 years that AB has had is just not enough).

For what it's worth, I've been a fan for over 45 years, and have seen the club in far worse state, both on and off the pitch, and I don't believe that we are heading for oblivion at all.

I agree with your last point - your viewpoint is perfectly valid and, no, you don't have to blindly cheer everything if you're not happy with what's happening. But what rankles with me (and I'm not aiming this at you, but at others who post here)is the constant tirade of verbal abuse directed at certain people in the club. In no way is it constructive, and it is simply another example of what much of the rest of the English speaking world refer to as the English Disease - rage, in this case 'football rage'.

And before anyone starts with the Scottish jibes - I'm an Englishman who has worked in virtually every English speaking country in the world.

Scotshorn - what a great reply! At last - someone who can accept people have contrary views, and debate them, without name calling, insult slinging etc.

I take your point about the need to give people time. However, while I am not one to advocate knee-jerk reaction (such as Newcastle and Allardyce), I think the signs that something was going wrong this season were plainly obvious to even the casual observer for many months.

In the course of one season, five months IS a long time - certainly long enough to consider and then execute the best course of action.

The fact we are now outsiders to go up having been favourites to finish top, and we are lamenting some poor refereeing decisions and questioning our luck, is because those in charge did not act soon enough or adequately enough to deal with the signs that were obvious to all.

We had no luck on Sunday - but there again, when you only win one of 14 games and still finish in the top six, you could say you had a large porion of good fortune spread over several weeks!

I also concur that those are in charge are in charge - however, who checks the checker?

We have a very small board at the club, and a pretty insular management team.

During the last half of the season, was there anyone among them questioning the actions of the others? No, because they all felt they were doing the right thing. Unity is one thing, but unquestioned blind faith is another.

People have said on here that AB needs an assistant, the club needs new voices on the board.

However, those that have performed those duties (KB, Russos) have moved on and the fact there has been no replacement suggests to me that those in charge are happier without them - whether that is good for the club or not.

Well Scotshorn the football for the most of the season has been dire.

People and players have moved on in bizarre ways.

The accounts came in for some interesting comments at the AGM and I havent seen court cases ensuing.

But despite the soccer it has been entertaining in a weird way.

With so many good men involved I wonder where the club would have been with a little more team play and less macho and stubborn behaviour.

Whilst some of the comments here have been outrageous and sometimes off the wall those of the management have also been a match and have had far more impact on matters this year.

Hopefully however this season ends next season will be one of reason and reasonableness to ensure that the club moves forward.

Whoever has duties to perform should perhaps put the club ahead of self interest, with the inexperienced paying some heed to the experienced on and off the pitch.

Now lets get on with the main business and give those cocky northerners a match for them to remember.

Hopefully we do not have people trotting off to Charlton for interviews when there is work to do, but if they do hopefully GS will show them the door, at this stage of the clubs development those who matter are with us.
