Bromby baffled by decision

Leigh Bromby pleaded his innocence after the Hull defeat claiming the Hornets were denied a clear goal.

Dan Shittu headed home after just four minutes but Bromby was penalised by referee Kevin Friend for an alleged push on goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.

But the Watford centre-back said: "He said I pushed the goalkeeper but I was just going for the ball. I think it was a clear goal but these decisions are going against us."

Despite the disappointing scoreline the Hornets created plenty of opportunities and Bromby was encouraged by the performance of the side.

Bromby said: "We played some good stuff and had a lot of chances but we haven't had much luck. I think we surprised a few people with the way we played but we didn't get the rub of the green.

"They are a good side and put us under pressure on the break. But we put on a good performance and it's only half way. I think we can still do it."

He was a complete berk. Disgraceful. Certainly no "friend" of mine but obviously a friend of Rob Styles. The sooner the FA sort out the quality of refereeing the better. We've been on the receiving end of some really poor refereeing this season. Eustace must think there's some kind of conspiracy against him.

I came away thinking how much i enjoyed the game and how much better it would have been with a decent referee.

A brilliant start, the ball on the ground and Aidy having told the Mail on sunday that styles would change. Maybe he has seen the light and perhaps next time he can talk to the observer as the official WFC paper. Community club etc imagine how easy it would be for KA to have news items.

Without Darius attracting the long balls it was made to all change and wasnt it good to watch. In the return assuming JE is forgiven for the push after the large shove he received, I would bring in Priskin for Ainsworth and let Tommy back out on the wing.

I really thought Richard made one good save and flapped at a cross and wasnt good with his positioning and as such Myhill made the difference.

Dont rule us out at Hull but it will be difficult, but despite the odd booboy the team got it right and showed what we have been stopped from watching, a WFC team that can play.

I thought the number of shots we had was brilliant and in another game some will go in. Since the start of November at home our shooting has been sporadic, on Sunday we were back with a vengeance.

Shame Darius wasnt there, but if he had of been i think we would have been served up with more dross.

Now can we get a ref who is pro the 'orns to make up for the hull friend.

It was a clear goal and that poor decision could well have cost us a chance of promotion and around £60 million.

We really have not had alot of luck this season with refs.

Going a goal up at that point may well have changed the game. It could have dented Hull's confidence and who knows.

But no we get a W**Ker of a ref that couldn't do his job and they score 4 mins later after a gift from Dan.

The sending off annoys me as well. We were looking good at that point and could well have pushed on and scored if we had 11 men but agin a decison cost us. I only hope the FA see sense and overturn the red. The luck we are having though I don't reckon they will.

I still have some hope for Wed. We did play well on Sun and given some more luck we could have got something.

Coupled with the antics of their pratt of a manager always walking into our technical area and his comments after the game. I'd love to get one over on em!

I am hoping that the Hull players think at the back of their minds that it's job done. We get some luck and if we can get an early goal it might just get them being nervous.

It would take a miricle but get an early goal and we might just have a chance (to take it to extra time anyway).

Someone told me this morning that no championship play off semi has ever been won by a team that are more than one goal behind. So we would need to make history!

As long as we give it everything on Wed then thats all we can do.

They will be thinking the game is already won and that will work in our favour without a doubt, all we need is 2 goals to take it in to extra time, its far from over yet keep the faith all that day out at Wembley is still on, Come ON!!!

Mark Clattenburg is the ref Wednesday, and in my opinion is one of the best in the country. Hopefully with a level playing field in terms of decisions we can go up there and have a right go. If we play as well as we did Sunday we've got a chance. Great to see some decent play to feet and hopefully that will continue. Even if Darius comes back in lets keep it on the deck and use the wide players to put the ball in for him to head towards goal, not just use him as an isolated target. Come on you horns!!!

I still think that just as one can appeal against the red card, one should be able to appeal against the referee's decision in disallowing a perfectly good goal. We need to make sure that he is NEVER allowed to be in charge of a football league match again. He is guilty of negligence, incompetence and, perhaps, bias.

The refs inaccurate decisions obviously had a major bearing on the result, which should of course be determined by the players not the officials !!. Unfortunately there is no recourse once the perishers have blundered their way through a match. Unless there is a move to a video appeals system (say 3 per side per game) we shall always have to put up with the (all too frequent) human errors.
However, agree that officials/refs should not get away with blatant incompetence. What happens in a case like this if a complaint is lodged against a ref ?

Totally agree Chris, came away thinking that if we dont make it this year, and we still have a great chance, next year if we play football like that on the floor with both Jobi and Tommy hugging the touchline with an injection of pace up front and a clever forward alongside ( Phillips is looking for a move by the way ) we could be a real threat next season. Lets not forget the injuries to key players this season and all the off field dramas. Next season we can do a West Brom if we have to, the players proved yesterday that they can play the football we knoew they were capable of and Aidy proved he can adapt...come on you horns

Ok, how about this then... 12 years ago Hull's manager Brown was part of a Blackpool team that won 2-0 away to Bradford in the first leg of their playoffs. (Bradford had that season finished in 6th place).

The away leg was won by Bradford 3-0 in 90 mins and Bradford went on to win the final.

Ok, so this promotion wasn't to the Prem, but it proves it has happened before in the past.

Keep the faith!!!!

Don't get too excited Optimist. Only two teams have ever overturned a two goal first leg deficit away from home in history of the play-offs.

so above we have glass half full and half empty guys !!!
I go with half full, its a long shot and doesnt look likely, so there is nothing to lose all out attack and if we lose its expected and if we win it will be out of this world, and remember if we get the first goal they will pap thelmselves and the presure will become frightening for them ... uuu ornssssss !!!!

Mr Parker; I am with you. Lets dare to dream and support the lads. If they play like they did sunday we have a real chance...if we still miss out then onto next year!
I see Eustace's card is rescinded which has got to help.

Yellows!!!
