Saracens have shown exactly why they have recruited Bath lock Steve Borthwick for next season after he was named captain for England's two-Test tour of New Zealand next month.
The Men in Black lacked leadership on the pitch last campaign but new England coach Martin Johnson's decision to hand the 28-year-old the captain's armband is a massive boost for Sarries, who have also snapped up one time Wales captain Michael Owen while South African flanker Wikus van Heerden is still expected to sign despite intimating his desire to stay in Pretoria earlier this week.
