An open day offering advice and services to disabled people, their families and carers was held in Watford this week.

The Watford Disability Awareness Event took place in Central Leisure Centre, in Hempstead Road, on Wednesday, offering around 50 stalls with information everyday from sailing, swimming and fishing to painting, craftwork and drama.

Leigh Hutchings, chairman of disability Watford, said: "We hope people were able to learn a lot.

"There was a good turnout of charities and groups at the event, to cover all different aspects and we had some very good feedback.

"We hope to hold another event, the same time next year."
