4:40pm Monday 29th October 2012 in News By Amie Mulderrig, Features Writer
Witches, ghouls and goblins gathered in Bushey on Saturday, for a Halloween in the Park event held in the town.
King George Recreation Ground was transformed into the spookiest place in Hertfordshire with children wearing their scariest costumes to mark Halloween.
For the event, organised by Hertsmere Leisure in conjunction with the Friends of King Georges Recreation Ground, a total of 75 children accompanied by parents searched the park for clues for chocolate treats as part of a spooky Halloween trail.
Children turned detectives by searching for picture and letter clues placed around the park which spelt a word.
Hertsmere Borough Councillor Brenda Batten judged the scariest fancy dress competition.
Shaz Setoudeh, Hertsmere Leisure representative, said: "This event was a huge success with families and children enjoying the Halloween trail and their prize of chocolates in the beautiful surroundings of this green flag park."
