The St Louis Rams made themselves at home in South West Hertfordshire last week before Sunday’s NFL clash with the New England Patriots at Wembley.

Players and officials from the Rams arrived in England almost a week before Sunday’s sixth NFL international match - which they eventually lost 45-7 - and stayed at Watford’s The Grove Hotel.

Club officials praised their accommodation on their official website, saying: "The Rams are staying at a terrific hotel out in Watford area called ‘The Grove’."

The official went on to add that as well as video and coaching facilities the team had been provided with a working locker room in one of the hotel’s meeting rooms.

Stan Kronke, owner of The Rams, is also majority shareholder at Arsenal FC and while the team was in the UK they trained at the club’s London Colney base.

And team coach Jeff Fisher was full of praise for the facilities. He said: 'We are actually very fortunate that we get to train at the Arsenal facility."

On Friday, the Watford Observer visited the team at The Grove to observe one of their final practise sessions before the match.
