Children drew their magic wands and recited spells at a special witchcraft and wizardy workshop at their school in Aldenham village.

Edge Grove Primary School was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry last Thursday, October 25.

Alison Sefton, head of science at the sister school, ran the interactive science event, which involved Year 5 and 6 pupils trying out invisible ink.

Miss Sefton said: "It was an absolute pleasure to come to Edge Grove. Students were given the opportunity to experiment with a red cabbage potion, allowing them to test for acids and alkalis.

"They also loved studying the reactivity of metals. Burning magnesium in a Bunsen burner was certainly a highlight of the day."
