11:30am Thursday 1st November 2012 in News By Amie Mulderrig, Features Writer
A royal gala concert is to be held in Watford to raise cash for The Peace Hospice.
For the first time in ten years, four local choirs will collaborate to stage an evening of music in the presence of HRH Princess Michael of Kent.
The concert will feature a host of talent including TV’s South Oxhey Choir, the Watford Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Chipperfield Choral Society and the Royal Masonic School Choir performing a spectacular repertoire combining traditional favourites with a twist of modern excerpts including Handel, Wagner, Orff, Coldplay, Sting, Julie Knowles and Parry.
Nicky Maxwell-Braithwaite, hospice representative, said: "It’s so exciting to be organising such a prestigious event and an honour that our president HRH Princess Michael of Kent will be joining us for this special occasion.
"What makes this event so different is the mix of classical and contemporary music, it promises to be a magical evening."
The Peace Hospice Royal Gala takes place at 7.30pm on Friday, November 23, at the Colosseum, Watford.
Tickets cost: £22.00 or VIP tickets cost: £50.00 and are available at: www.watfordcolosseum.co.uk.
VIP tickets include a pre-show sparkling reception from 7.00pm in the presence of HRH Princess Michael of Kent, dress code: lounge suit or cocktail dress.
Cash from every ticket sold will count towards the £3.8 million the Hospice needs each year to run and develop its services.
The Royal Gala event will play a vital role in helping to support the Hospice’s continued work, reaching more people across South West Herts with a life limiting or terminal illness.
