Male staff from Bushey Grove Leisure Centre are ditching their razors to raise cash for charity.

Showing their support for charity campaign Movember, team Bushey Grove are competing against each other in a bid to raise cash for prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

As part of the rules, each "Mo Bro" must begin the first day of "Movember" with a clean shaven face.

For the entire month they must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the Mo to the sideburns (that is considered a beard), there is to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that is considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.

Team members include general manager Paul Toomey, fitness and sales manager Steve Salwa, operations manager Dean Tearle and lifeguards Lee Rossiter, Adam Knight, James McKelvey, Stewart Mallett, and Dan Kitchener.

Staff from other Hertsmere Leisure Centres including South Oxhey will also take part in the charity initiative.

Mr Toomey said: "Movember is such a great cause and a good laugh for our lads and to be honest we have become a little competitive about it with each centre wanting to raise more than the others.

"We hope people will support this fantastic cause which raises awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer and raise money for research into these awful diseases."
