Police are appealing for witnesses after four bikes were stolen in Bushey in under one week.

Between Sunday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 30, a children’s bike was removed from a garden in Farrington Avenue.

A men’s silver mountain bike was stolen from an unlocked shed in Great Grove on Tuesday, October 30, a men’s blue mountain bike was stolen from outside the post office where it was left unsecured in the High Street, on Thursday, November 1.

A further men’s blue mountain bike was also stolen from a garden in Harcourt Road between Wednesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 1.

PC Kevin Hendrick from the Bushey Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "The bikes are being stolen after they have been left insecure.

"This is an open invitation to a criminal to steal a bike so I’d use this opportunity to remind people to lock their bikes, and other valuables away.

"Your local officers can mark your valuables, such as bikes, for free using UV pens so that if they are stolen they can be recovered by police."

Witnesses to these crimes or those interested in having their valuables marked are asked to contact police via non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on: 0800 555111.
